Helping Clinicians Heal from Client Suicide

1 in 4 counselors and 1 in 2 psychiatrists will have a client die by suicide in their career. The impact is significant and can affect a clinician’s ability to remain in the field. This workshop explores the symptoms therapists may experience following a client suicide, as well as strategies mental health leaders can use to support clinician healing. Through Q&A, storytelling, and case vignettes, participants will deepen their understanding of the clinician experience following client suicide and explore practical tools for healing and support. Participants will leave with greater compassion for colleagues who have experienced client loss, healing tools for therapist survivors, and ideas for how mental health leaders can better support clinicians after a client suicide.
